Mechanical Seals - Inside Sales

Surrey, BC

THE JOB
We have an immediate opportunity for a skilled individual to join our multi-disciplined team within our mechanical seal business unit. This is a demanding role in a rapidly developing business unit. You will help drive our business by providing timely tear-down reports for customers, operating key equipment, re-assembling, and pressure testing prior to returning to the customer.
– Receive customer’s used seals and evaluate for repair feasibility using state of the art equipment for inspection, measurement, and failure analysis; submit condition reports accordingly.
– Read blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to determine work procedures.
– Work with the engineering team to understand and improve meant time between repairs.
– Set up machine/tooling/material, and operate machines required for work order production; May include but not limited to lapping tables, blast cabinets, drill press, manual lathe/milling machine, electric/pneumatic tools.
– Build, fit, assemble and finish products as instructed on work orders, on time, and within established labor time standards.
– Actively follow all QA processes for in-process and final quality control as per published standards and procedures; maintain QA inspection reports.
– Maintain inventory management principles of product packaging, labeling, storage, etc.
– Daily upkeep of machine, work area, and storage areas.
– Report to Mechanical Seal Supervisor on suggestions for improvement within the area.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR:
Registered CET, Ctech, or ASct in Mechanical discipline (ASET, ASTTBC, NAIT, SAIT or equivalent)
Preferred experience with mechanical seals, but we are willing to train.
Willing to submit a background check.
You have a mechanical aptitude to use machines, hand tools, power tools, and air tools to assemble intricate components to exacting tolerances; Rotating equipment experience is an asset.
Knowledge of lapping, component inspection, and a demonstrated ability to read technical drawings are also desirable attributes.
We only hire positive attitudes willing to multi-task and commit to whatever it takes to ensure customer satisfaction and overall continuous improvement. You can meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a cool head. You’ll be able to read, write, and speak fluent English in order to comply with our AMS and HSMS systems.
You’re comfortable working with a Windows PC for job tracking, reporting, equipment operation etc.

Inside Sales Representative

Surrey, BC

Reporting to the Inside Sales Supervisor, the ISR is responsible for handling all external and internal customer interactions in a professional and courteous manner.  Creating a high level of customer satisfaction is the primary goal. ISR’s are expected to support the overall Marketing and Sales goals of the organization. Specific Responsibilities include:

  1. Respond in a timely basis to customer requests, displaying a sense of enthusiasm and urgency appropriate to customer expectations.
  2. Provide customers with accurate information on the company’s products and services.
  3. Follow prescribed pricing models and structures; ensuring prices quoted are acceptable to company standards and meet current pricing strategies.
  4. Enter customer orders properly into the ERP promptly, accurately and effectively, maintaining a pace of work that meets acceptable standards.
  5. Promptly reply to any quotation requests from customers and/or outside sales reps.
  6. Proactively follow up on quotations and customer information requests, directly interacting with customers with the aim to increase sales volumes.
  7. Interact with outside sales reps on customer problems, product pricing issues, and special customer requests. Communicate regularly with outside sales reps on specific issues with their assigned customers.  Exhibit and promote a sense of teamwork with outside sales reps.
  8. Ensure inside sales processes for quotes, contracts, customer relations, bid follow up, purchasing, delivery, are all executed effectively. Perform administrative tasks as required.
  9. Ensure all company policies are observed. Ensure quality verifications are conducted as per the requirements of the QA program (where applicable).
  10. Communicate effectively with manufacturing, purchasing, warehouse, shipping/receiving and administration staff to make certain that each customer transaction is completed accurately and timely.
  11. Recognize key accounts and their importance and respond in a priority basis, while maintaining appropriate levels of service to all customers.
  12. Utilize time effectively to complete the expected level of work.
  13. Proactively assist with continuous improvement initiatives authorized by management and provide recommendations for new initiatives on an on-going basis. (Example: Conexiom)
  14. Always maintain a professional demeanor, present yourself in an acceptable manner, and maintain your work environment in an organized fashion.
  15. Take responsibility for your own training, utilizing the resources available. Enthusiastically accept new challenges.
  16. Quality Program- implement corrective and preventive action and actively collect and report Customer’s Feedback

  1. Comply with A. R. Thomson Group’s Health and Safety Policies, Procedures and Safe Work Practices.
  2. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.
  3. Report any unsafe, unhealthy act or condition to immediate supervisor.
  4. Report any near miss, injury or equipment damage accident to the immediate supervisor and complete the required reports.
  5. Take every reasonable precaution to protect the safety of self, other workers in their area and the general public.
  6. Attend safety meetings as required and actively participate in the Health and Safety Program.
